Feeling like fall

Feeling like fall

It’s Columbus Day, which means autumn in New York is in full swing! Hopefully you’re off from work and enjoying a long weekend. I know I am!

Even though I love summer, I have to admit that I’m more than ready for low humidity, cooler temps, and fall fashion. Fall in the city also brings farmer’s markets, trips out of the city to orchards and pumpkin patches, and cozy restaurants and cocktail bars.

Fashion

One of my favorite fall fashion trends this year is animal print! I basically consider leopard print a neutral, and it’s the perfect way to add some polish to a casual outfit, or personality to a more buttoned-up look. Try these boots, these headbands, this sweater or this scarf the perfect accent that won’t break the bank.

Also, I listed an option for some animal print headbands, and I’m REALLY feeling headbands this season. Try this 6-pack of fall colors to add to your every day wardrobe.

Home

Candles are my favorite way to give your home a signature scent during a new season. A budget-friendly candle that has a variety of scents and designs are Bath & Body Works. They go on sale a few times a year, and it’s perfect to stock up. Their Leaves scent is constantly burning in my apartment. Two of my other favorite fall scents are Boy Smell’s Kush and NEST Pumpkin Chai.

NYC Eats & Drinks

  1. Nai Tapas, East Village: I recently hosted my birthday dinner here, and it’s friendly and cozy and feels like you’re in someone’s kitchen. It’s the perfect place to host a dinner this fall, and has an amazing prix fixe if you’re looking to host a special occasion or just a night out with friends.

  2. Union Hall, Park Slope: This is a new neighborhood favorite for me, but if you’re in Brooklyn, come curl up next to a fire and enjoy the fall-ish decor with dark wood and leather couches. It is the perfect mix of lively and relaxing.

  3. Rosemary’s, West Village: This restaurant is on many people’s go-to list, and for good reason. Get the focaccia and go to the bar early to enjoy the wine on happy hour.

  4. Randolph Beer, Nolita: They have a few locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but the Nolita location has a beautiful long bar, a diverse beer menu and great brunch deal. The mix of wood and iron make this a great place to spend a few hours, before you wander out to the little shops nearby.
